The moment

A building finished, not yet lived in.

The Goodweather replaces a single house with two compact buildings between the Sunnyside CTrain and McHugh Bluff. Colour, rhythm, and care on a modest lot. Right now it sits in the short window between construction and daily life. The list is how you step into it first.

The place

Steps from the train, the bluff, and Kensington.

Sunnyside is one of Calgary's oldest neighbourhoods. The Goodweather leaves the car behind and leans on what is already close: transit, paths, the park, and the shops around the corner. Secure bike storage for every home.

The team

Three roles, one team.

The Goodweather is designed, developed, and leased by a group that works together on every home it makes, all based in Calgary.

Design

Studio North

A Calgary architecture and design studio that begins every project with its place: the land, the light, the weather, and the people who will use it. The work runs from houses and laneways to heritage and multifamily, and the studio stays hands-on through construction. Homes built to be lived in, and to last.

Development

Part + Parcel

The developer and owner. Part + Parcel builds a few buildings at a time, in neighbourhoods it knows, and keeps them for the long term rather than flipping them. The name is the point: belonging to a place, not landing on it.

Leasing

Arch House

A curated real-estate service built around good design and Canadian craft. Arch House pays attention to the story of a place: how it was made and how it is cared for. It handles leasing for The Goodweather, so it is who you will hear from next.

Before It Becomes Home

Thank you for filling it with light.

On August 7 we lit the building up and about a hundred people came through, before anyone had moved in. Thank you to everyone who joined us for Before It Becomes Home, our evening with Design Week Calgary. It was the last time the Goodweather will be this empty.
